You must agree to have REGULAR LESSONS of at least one a week (except for holidays), otherwise we may be unable to continue lessons with you. If you decide to take take a lesson break of more than two weeks, you may be removed from our books to make way for a new pupil.
Please ensure that we are aware of your current mobile and landline numbers, and informed promptly of any changes so that we are able contact each other when necessary. It would also be appreciated if mobile phones are turned off or left at home for your lesson to avoid any potentially dangerous distractions.
Each lesson will begin at the pre-
The pupil may be permitted to use the training car for their driving test only if the driving instructor is satisfied that the pupil is at the required standard. The cost of the use of the training car for the driving test period is payable to Hall Driving School.
Your Instructor reserves the right to postpone lessons if they feel that the weather or road conditions are unsuitable or dangerous. Your Instructor cannot be held responsible for any costs incurred as a result of them having to postpone any lesson for whatever reason.
The instructor reserves the right to cancel a lesson at short notice if it is suspected that the pupil is unfit to drive due to the effects of alcohol, drugs, excessive tiredness or any other condition that would cause dangerous driving. In such circumstances, the lesson fee would still be payable.
Neither the Instructor nor the pupil will smoke in the vehicle during or any time after lessons.
During lessons, we will make every effort to avoid damage to the car. However, if we consider that you were driving in a dangerous or unpredictable way during a lesson and despite our best efforts to help, actual damage is caused, you will be expected to pay for all repairs to any damaged vehicles (including ours) up to the level of excess on our driving School insurance policy. This will be discussed at the time of the damage. In addition, during a driving test, the examiner will not prevent you, the candidate, from hitting the kerb or causing other similar minor damage to the car. Therefore, all damage caused by you whilst on test will be charged to you (up to the level of excess on the instructor’s insurance policy).
We expect you to contact us the evening before your lesson if you have had any symptoms of the virus within the last 7 days or if you know anyone or have been in contact with anyone that is showing symptoms or has been doing so within the last 14 days.
We expect that immediately before leaving your house, College or place of work for your driving lesson, that you will wash your hands, following government guidance, for at least 20 seconds. For the protection of the instructor and pupil, we request that you wear a face mask/covering; your lesson will NOT commence without one and no refund will be given. Your face masks/covering will need to be provided by YOU. “The evidence suggests that face coverings can help us protect each other and reduce the spread of the COVID 19 if someone is suffering from coronavirus, but not showing symptoms”. Windows will also be left partially open during your lesson, to help control the spread of Covid 19.
Wearing a mask and having the windows partially open is still currently required on driving tests. Although many driving Schools are currently choosing to ignore this advice for lessons, we feel that while Covid cases are still very high, it would be irresponsible for us not to follow the Government and N.A.S.P. Guidance.
Please avoid bringing any unnecessary items to your driving lessons. Essential items can be placed in a container that we will provide, to reduce the risk of further contamination.
Before you get into the car, we will check your temperature with a non-
Before your lesson begins, we will sanitize door handles (inside and out), window and mirror controls, driver’s seat and head restraint, driver’s seatbelt and its connection, gear lever, steering wheel, indicator and wiper stalks, as well as the car keys, with wipes and sprays.
During your lesson the windows will be down as much as possible (rain allowing!) to allow more ventilation and a safer environment, so you may need to wrap up warm! Parents, guardians, or friends will not be able to sit in on the lesson until further notice.
Payments for lessons can still be made in cash but please bring the exact money to reduce the handling of cash. Bank transfers before the lesson starts are also still acceptable.
